Our Cabinet Painting Process

ED Painting LLC has been painting kitchen cabinets for over three decades. In that time, we’ve been able to improve and refine our painting process to make it as smooth and seamless for homeowners as possible. Ultimately, our painting process can be broken down into five parts.

Free Quote

Every cabinet painting job starts with a free quote. A member of our team will collect your job details and prepare a free quote when you fill out a info@edpaintingllc.com . If the quote looks good to you, we’ll work to schedule a job start date at a day and time that is most convenient for you.

Room Preparation

The bodies of the cabinets will be painted in your kitchen, which means the room needs be prepped for painting. We’ll mask the walls around the cabinets and cover the floors and countertops with drop cloths. We can also help you move appliances if any appliances need to be moved to perform the job.

Door, Drawer, & Shelf Removal

Once the room is prepped, our team will work to remove cabinet doors and drawers to be able to paint those items separately. If we’re painting the interior of your cabinets, we’ll also remove the shelves. All of these items will be taken to our shop for painting.

Surface Prep, Prime, & Paint

After the cabinets are disassembled, we’ll be able to start prepping surfaces for painting. We’ll clean all surfaces with a degreasing solution before scrubbing surfaces with a deglosser (if the existing surfaces are glossy). After cleaning and deglossing the cabinet surfaces, we’ll prime, sand, and paint them.

Re-Assembly & Cleanup

Once all of the surfaces are painted, we’ll work to re-assemble the cabinets. We’ll bring the doors, drawers, and shelves back from our shop and re-install everything back to working order. Our work isn’t done after re-assembly. We’ll then clean up your kitchen to leave it in even better condition than we originally found it.

The Benefits Of Painting Cabinets

Painting the kitchen cabinets in your home can provide you with several different benefits. The most common benefits homeowners experience after working with ED Painting LLC for cabinet painting can be found below.

Increased Resale Value

Painting is often one of the most economical home improvements you can invest in. Painting costs less than most home improvement projects and paint can drastically enhance the appearance of the kitchen to increase resale value. The kitchen is one of the most closely inspected rooms in a home for home buyers. You can sell your home for top dollar by improving the appearance of your kitchen cabinets.

Improved Mood

It’s no secret that the color of our surroundings affects our mood. The kitchen can play a pivotal role in setting our mood for each day, especially considering the fact that Americans spend an average of over 400 hours a year in their kitchens. Painting cabinets in a color that is soothing or appealing to you can help to improve your overall mood.

Increased Cabinet Lifespan

Many homeowners will replace their cabinetry with new cabinetry when their existing cabinets would have lasted for decades. More often than not, you can repaint your cabinets instead of replacing them to extend their useful life. Painting is a more economical option to improve kitchen appearance compared to cabinet replacement.
